Jordan Wishman

Meet the owner and co-founder

Jordan Wishman was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa where he quickly found a passion for the game of hockey. He played for the local youth hockey association before making the jump to AAA as a 12-year-old. From there he left home at the age of 14 to begin billeting with a family in Kansas where he would play for the season. His career saw stops at three different high schools in four years, playing in both the NAHL and the USHL, as well as playing five seasons of division one college hockey for Niagara University. After his college career concluded, he signed with the Wheeling Nailers of the East Coast Hockey League, an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Ultimately, Jordan’s career came to an end after the 2023 season when he decided to return home to begin giving back to the community he loves. Since returning home, Jordan has slowly become more involved in the Des Moines Hockey scene and came to the realization that there was a need for more training opportunities for hockey players in the surrounding metro area. Because of this, One More Hockey was born. Jordan looks forward to helping develop the next wave of hockey players from Des Moines in hopes of helping each of them reach their dreams.

Testimonials

Braden Rourke - Robert Morris University NCAA Division One

The skates this summer were very good and very worth all the time put into it from both the players and coaches. Coach Wishman did a really good job of making sure we got to work on a lot of little things we might not get to work on during the season, and he always made sure to keep adding different variations to it that will transfer over to games very well. He also would ask us what we wanted to work on and no matter what we said he was willing to adapt the session to our needs. Whether It was things like competing in small area games, to tipping pucks, to working on pulling pucks off of the wall, he always had our best Interest at heart to make us better players. His skates helped to give us the tools we need to keep getting better in order to continue progressing as hockey players to higher levels.

Darrell Thompson - Hockey Dad

Visited family In Des Moines recently and was concerned with finding suitable hockey training for my 17-year-old son who plays high-end prep hockey In Toronto, Canada. Asked around at a hockey pro shop and a couple rinks and the name "Jordan Wishman" was a constant. I reached out and we set up some sessions, and boy, were we ever Impressed! Extremely competent, offering excellent, high-tempo drills, constant feedback after every rep, and best of all, he is "youngish" (I.e. easily relatable to a 17-year- old) and Imparted Invaluable tips to my son about playing NCAA hockey (and he did not have to do that). My (erroneous, obviously) assumption of a lack of quality hockey training for my son In Des Moines has historically kept us from visiting lowa as often as we would like. I can assure you that this is no longer an obstacle! His pricing? Very reasonable, although I could/would argue that he could charge more, given the level of service he provides.

Patrick Grasso - Professional Hockey Player

"Jordan cares about the development of every player that takes the Ice with him and he has the ability to break down fundamental skills to all playing abilities and ages from beginners to professionals. He has the dedication and the knowledge to teach concepts that are both extremely relevant and directly transferable from practices to games. For many kids, especially those In the Des Moines area, Jordan walked in the same steps as many of you and knows what it takes to play at some of highest levels of hockey. I would highly urge any young player with dreams of playing at the next level, looking to gain an edge on their teammates and opponents, to use Jordan as a resource."

Grady Deering - Waterloo Black Hawks USHL, University of Wisconsin NCAA Division 1 Commit

"Jordan's skates are awesome, they are very high skilled, high paced skates that focus on skills, quickness, and scoring. I've been skating with Jordan for two summers now and clearly see the steps I've taken. Not only have I developed every time I've skated with him, but I've had a ton of fun doing it. Jordan is a coach who wants his players to get better every single time they are on the Ice. His skates push you everyday to develop to get to that next level no matter which level it is."
